Effective August 21st, 2023, the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) has disapproved Timken Aurora’s qualification status for SAE-AS81820 and SAE-AS81935 specifications. Timken Aurora is working diligently to get requalified.

  • Body - PH 13-8 Mo stainless steel per AMS 5629 - heat treated.
  • Ball - 440C stainless steel per AMS 5630 - heat treated.
  • Optional Ball - 13-8 Mo stainless steel per AMS 5629 - heat treated. (Specify by adding suffix "C" ex.: ATM-3ETC)
  • Race - 17-4 PH stainless steel per AMS 5643 - heat treated.
  • PTFE Liner - (AT 3200) Permanently bonded to race inside diameter, qualified to SAE-AS81820 Type A.
  • Temperature range: -65°F to +325°F
  • No load rotational breakaway torque can be varied to meet specific application requirements.
  • Keyways are available. Units are supplied without keyways. When a keyway is required, specify by adding suffix "K". Ex.: ATMK-3T.
  • As applicable, keyways will conform to SAE-AS81935/3 or NAS 559.
  • All threads are rolled after heat treatment, and conform to UNJF-3A per AS8879.
  • Rod End Bearings listed are manufactured to conform to the dimensions, materials, and configurations of SAE-AS81935/8, and are approved for procurement under this specification.
